25 years of DLG Progressive Farmers Working Groups in Turkey

(DLG International). 25 years ago DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft e.V. – German Agricultural Society) together with the then Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH (Germany’s international cooperation organization), the Union of Turkish Chambers of Agriculture (TZOB) and business-minded farmers founded the first Progressive Farmers Working Groups (Önder Çiftçi Projekt/ÖÇP) in Thrace in the European part of Turkey. The objective of the project that was supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development was to enable Turkish farmers to develop their farms and make them competitive by acting independently, self-reliantly and on their own responsibility. DLG awards a Gold Medal for international cooperation to Ludwig Spanner from Essenbach in Lower Bavaria

(DLG).  The management board of the German Agricultural Society (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft, DLG) has awarded a gold medal for international cooperation to the farmer, Ludwig Spanner, from Essenbach in Lower Bavaria (Landshut district). As DLG President, Carl-Albrecht Bartmer, underscored in his congratulatory speech, DLG made this award in recognition of Spanner’s outstanding work promoting the interests of DLG and international cooperation. All you need to know about tillage with ploughs - DLG AgroFood has the answers

In October DLG AgroFood, the Polish subsidiary of DLG International,  and KPODR Minikowo organized an event entitled “New technologies and solutions for tillage with ploughs” at the Agricultural Machinery Center (CTR) Minikowo. Over 100 farmers ready to invest and 45 students came to the two-day event to obtain a precise picture of the latest trends in tillage using ploughs. Turkish farmers fired with enthusiasm by machinery demonstrations

Nearly 17,000 visitors at the premiere of “Tarim ve Teknoloji Günleri” in Karaevli near Tekirdag (West Turkey)

The machinery  and plant cultivation demonstrations “Tarim ve Teknoloji Günleri” carried out for the first time in this form by DLG Fuarcılık Ltd., a subsidiary of DLG International GmbH, in Karaevli near Tekirdag (West Turkey) from 21 to 24 July 2011, attracted the attention of many Turkish farmers. The interest of the 16,850 expert visitors who had travelled in from many regions of Turkey focused on the demonstrations of modern tillage machinery and equipment, as well as demonstrations of machinery for oilseed rape harvesting.  [more...]

Agro-Tech Minikowo near Bydgoszcz (North-West Poland) attracted 38,000 visitors

450 exhibitors presented their latest machinery and equipment for arable farming and animal husbandry on 2 and 3 July 2011 – Machinery demonstrations – Livestock show – Demonstration plant cultivation plots – High DLG Award for Dr. Roman Sass

Altogether 450 exhibitors presented the latest machinery and equipment for arable and grassland farming and animal husbandry at the Agro-Tech Minikowo agricultural exhibition near Bydgoszcz (North-West Poland) on 2 and 3 July 2011. With 38,000 farmers and specialists from the field of agribusiness, the organizers KPODR Minikowo and DLG AgroFood (Poznan), a subsidiary of DLG International, recorded excellent visitor figures despite the adverse weather conditions. The number of visitors was eight per cent higher than at the preceding event last year. Alongside the outstanding programme comprising the latest agricultural machinery and equipment, systems and installations for animal husbandry and farm inputs, the machinery demonstrations of tillage machinery and plant protection sprayers provided an excellent opportunity to gather information about these methods. Dynamic growth of Opolagra outdoor exhibition!

Renewed increase in number of exhibitors and visitors – excellent location

(DLG AgroFood). The outdoor agricultural exhibition, Opolagra, which takes place in Kamien Slaski close to Opole in Southwest Poland, records dynamic growth. According to the figures released at the close of the event by the organizer, DLG AgroFood, a subsidiary of DLG International, this top agricultural show in Poland’s southwest region attracted a total of 328 exhibitors in the period from 10 to 12 June 2011. DLG AgroFood’s Managing Director Ludwik Apolinarski (Poznan) said this was equivalent to an increase of more than 40 percent over last year. China’s booming bioenergy market

Second Bio-Energy Expo in Qingdao a resounding success; over 300 attend conference on the industrial production of biogas

(DLG International). Marking its second edition, the 18-20 May Chinese trade exhibition for Biogas Technology and Management concluded its successful three-day run in Qingdao, China. Some 25 companies from China, Europe and America presented products and services related to the production and use of bioenergy. This was twice the number of exhibitors compared with the first event in 2010 in Beijing, a testament to the potential of the biogas market in China. [more...]
